I have recently written a paper on this issue in an MBA class assignment. I give most people here credit for enthusiasm and willingness to do something, but they don't seem to grasp the basics about legislative and administrative laws and the hundreds of legal exceptions that take precedence over the EEO legislation.
It's sad the same idea gets recycled and reproduced then goes no where with every disappointing visa bulletin. At least someone should shell out the $200, get the correct legal opinion and let us move on.

Need to send the following documents in addition to confirmation receipt.
1. Driviling Licence xerox copy or Passport copy first page xerox copy
2.I 797 action notice for your 485 application to prove your 485 is pending
3. Two passport size photos
4. confirmation receipt
This information available in I 131 form instruction document. If you do not send these , your application may liable for get rejected

My I-140 was filed on July 6 and arrives at USCIS on July 9.
The check was cashed on July 12 and I was able to get the receipt number. BUT BY NOW I HAVE NOT RECEIVE THE RECEIPT. It seems many people are in the same boat. What we can do about it?
Anybody knows how many days it would take between they cash the check and mail out the receipt? What address do they use?

I just found out that I will not be getting the stimulus as my wife is cannot get a SSN. In addition, we will not be getting stimulus amount for our American born daughter.
We have been here for a year and a half and while there are some benefits to being in America, my wife and I are trying hard to understand why we moved here from Canada (saving taxes is no benefit when compared to having to deal with ignorance all around). My being here is benefiting an American company (which did not have the expertise that I brought to them and this country) and thereby this country.
If I were to leave the company, a number of people would lose their jobs and I would take my expertise somewhere else.....
Is it true that almost everything done in America is poorly planned and lacks foresight and common sense? Our experience here to date is giving us this impression.....
I would be interested in joining with others against the IDIOTS who don't understand who is benefitting this country.

They have to abolish the H1B programme completely since they can no longer prevent its abuse. They need to have a new process in place in which scrutiny occurs for each application of a foreign worker!
Another option is to spread the words how Americans treat H1B workers, esp. those educated ones. Once a realistic view about coming to America as a legal foreign worker is known, I bet a lot of people will not come. Who is going to waste 10 years of their life living in a "near-slave" work environment and at the end still apply to Canadian residency? :D
Once nobody, esp. those well-educated, high-tech, skill workers, comes, they will see the impact of the whole American immigration saga. ;)

people with earlier priority dates who are able to file/not file for I-485 at this time wont be effected much with people with recent priority dates who file their AOS remember while getting IN u may multiple doors ..exit is only one and ordered

SATYAGRAH is an Excellent idea.One day hunger strike near Capitol hill will give enough media attention ! I think it is legal to protest in a peacefull way. It is much better than rally ! I am ready to participate in SATYAGRAH in DC !

If nothing happen in lame duck session, I would suggest to gether at DC (may be 50-100 people) and have one day hunger opposition. One person can dress like Gandhi to attract attention of media. Send one flower and picture of Gandhi to all Congree members with just one line message and it can be repeated every week.

2. Keep aggressively working on SATYAGRAH (insist for truth) to end retrogression. If nothing happen in lame duck session, I would suggest to gether at DC (may be 50-100 people) and have one day hunger opposition. One person can dress like Gandhi to attract attention of media. Send one flower and picture of Gandhi to all Congree members with just one line message and it can be repeated every week.

One way is to invest regularly in 401 K. By that way you let your investments grow tax free and if you have to or go back to India then you can withdraw them next year, TAX free or less tax. Thus you actually pay less tax and ultimately you might pay lesser tax than your social security. Who cares if the social security is being taken from me.
I heard that if you are non resident of USA, the tax rate is 30% ( for Indian residents). Also I heard that you can collect SS if you have paid 10 years SS tax even if you don't have GC/ citizenship at the age of 60. But we don't know whether the SS will be there by that time when we turns 60!.:rolleyes: Don't know whether we will be there!. :eek:
The Dollar value may go upside down by that time:cool:

Hey guys
Just received email from CRIS regarding I-485 denial notice for both me and my wife.
I used AC21 after 9 months of filing I-485. My I-140 was approved before even filing I-485 in July fiasco.
My attorney promptly sent AC-21 and G-28 and i did see LUD on my and my wife's I-485 after that.
My previous company informed me sometime ago that they are going to revoke I-140 and probably they did and i am assuming that's what triggered this.
This is certainly a big damm mistake they did even after sending AC-21 docs and G-28.
I think they misplaced AC-21 application and also they missed NOID step. This is basically two mishaps. Looks like every thing is messed up.
Motion-to-reopen is right step as after denial, beacse case is deemed to be closed after AOS denial.
I am not sure, how much info-pass can help.
