No its I-485 I just cut and pasted the two emails I received, first at 10am then the second at 3 pm check online and the system had same messages. If its true I am having a party wow man thanks I did come to US in 1997. I do have a labor which was approved under RIR PD date 2004 but the employer refused to file I-140. Then again filed PERM in 2007 under EB2 and filed I-140/I-485 based on this PERM

Not to scare you but USCIS Can make mistakes.
In our company we have an immigration chat alias and my colleague' friend's
wife's GC was approved and after a couple of months she got a mail saying that
her GC was approved by mistake and it is being revoked!
She hadn't event applied for EAD renewal since her GC was approved.
Now I am not making it up.
I don't have any more details about this case but I read this on our alias.

I was in Indian consulate for renewing the passport. I went there on time and there was a pathetic guy at the entrance who refuse to speak other than hindi. Though I told him that I do not understand hindi, he never listen to that and started his conversation with hindi.
Then comes the worst part. A cab driver went to him and handed over some dollar note and got the token. Then the driver handed over the token to the passenger and left. That guy got into the line well before me and got his work done. @#$K those people.

i would not recommend either murthy or R khanna i had a lousy exp with R Khanna and a friend of mine with murthy. I love Fragomen (my Co uses them) my last company i used Thomas Fan (based in MD) I like them both.
Fragomen is a huge firm - your experience will depend on the attorney/group dealing with your case (or company cases).
I am working in US from 99 - in three companies; and went thru partial GC process three times (once layedoff after the approval of labor; second left the company when they didnt agree to do PERM after labor is sent to PBEC; and third the current one - finally able to send 485 in July). Extended/Transferred H1b a few times. In all these cases the firm is same - Fragomen - but with different attorney's/groups. My experiences range from utter disappointment (a completely incompetent lawyer messing up relatively straight forward case and dont even correspond to explain anything) to much better (an attorney who does not mind to take calls and explain my concerns and actually sympathizes with my case and even remembers particulars). So it depends on the attorney you get.
If you are going with a lawyer on your own - you might be better off going with smaller firms. If your company has already gone with one of big law firms like Fragomen - you may not have much choice there - just deal diplomatically with the lawyer.

Last few lines of this artice is clear about Senate mood. Even IV wants to lobby sepeately for gc numbers IV has to come up with reasonable numbers based on requirement. Arbitary numbers or blanket exemptions will have more chance for failure.
But unless they can prove that they system is not currently being abused, and unless they can come up with specific figures for the number of visas required, they will have a hard time persuading lawmakers that the cap needs to be raised beyond the current proposal of 115,000.

For that they have to hire H1b and L1 persons from Countries mainly India. Those things made anti immigrants hardened their stand. How did the anti-immigrants get a upper hand on this. They are allowing illegals to get an easy path to citizenship.. this will cause a huge influx of people who will benefit the economy but down the line their children will take up the jobs of the americans.. so why a benefit to illegals.

I see no money involved in the effort..many free loaders will be sending the emails..great job IV..I feel shame as a member that no month donation target ever reached..& this month only 125USD. I think donors will give their donation at DC only ..IV should have the capability of collecting donations on the counters at DC with some kid of receipt..Go IV Go...

we are approaching the date of meeting, and love to see everyone who is coming post here once atleast.... confirming it that way....
The main target is to stay active on website. Because this website is our main source to stay in touch and keep ourselves updated.
we are only three days away from our first meeting. 15-16 guys have confirmed. we would love to see a reminder/confirmation post here from all of them.... It will give a better idea for the preparation.....

I am a filmmaker and writer, and am currently developing a proposal for a digital documentary on the experiences of dependent visa holders. The film primarily aims to educate potential dependent visa holders and their families about the limitations of life on these visas so that they may make an informed decision. It also aims to reach policy makers in the US and others who can influence policy change.
As part of my background research I have some questionnaires for the following categories of people.
1) Those currently on dependent visa.
2) Those who were once on a dependent visa and now have an H1 (or some other working status, not a Green Card).
3) Those who were once on a dependent visa and now have a Green Card.
4) Those who are back in home country after being on dependent status.
5) Those who are here on a primary visa but have a dependent spouse.
6) Those who are currently in home country but are considering going on a dependent visa.

There were approvals on July 1st and July 2nd for PD which were current according to the earlier released visa bulletin.
This does mean the earlier bulletin was valid for few hours and the applications received during that period should be valid!!

I agree with refugee. I too was in a similar situation. In today's economy of Green Cards, I have come to recognize that it is BEST to work for a good DESI consulting firm, with whom you can trust, otherwise you have to go through the cycle of layoffs.
I have worked top notch blue chip companies and they laid me off, lost 2 years of my labor cert time Old Labor process, PD of 2001, then a small desi company hired me and then they laid me off, since he was too greedy, again lost my RIR Labor PD of 2003. I never could reach 140stage. Then finally joined a friend's company, now my PERM and I140 is cleared and now waiting in line with PD of 2005.
So please be careful with whom you work for......it may be better not to get a salary versus layoff which messes up your GC completely. I work on a % basis, so all the risk is on me and my friend does not have any obligation if I do not have a project..., yes he helps me get a project too...

I am currently on H1 and plan to get married in India next month and file 485 for me and wife next month. She will be able to travel with me on H4. If she starts using EAD after getting it, does that invalidate my H1? I plan to continue with the same employer on H1.
No it does not invalidate your H1. You can keep working on your H1.

No need to jump the gun. I didn't ask it at a personal level, in case you didn't understand it! Instead of nitpicking on a single statement, read the whole paragraph! I am a member of a state chapter and keep posting on the Yahoogroups, though it's been a month since anyone else posted there ( and I don't get any replies).
I'm not getting into personal level/ad hominem discussion as it's pointless. I don't need to prove anything to anybody.
Here is the deal, the idea of state chapters is for grass roots organization. We can't reach out to everyone if we don't have remote hubs, it is as simple as that. We recently revived the WA state chapter and I keep sending emails, one or two respond, the rest are silent readers. However they did join the group and we are now 30+ members. Now, we plan to have a conference call and then we are planning to get together within 2 weeks to meet all of these members. No one is forced, but we would send out and invitation to every member. Then we come out with certain agendas and action items that fall within IV goals. Like one of the main things is to meet local law makers within each state for follow up. This is best done at state level. So I understand the part that you care confused is nothing is happening and you just keep writing. I know the feeling but can you get everyone together, can you get to meet them one by one. Trust me, once you get the ball rolling, before you know, you will have a big strong chapter that makes it easier to pass targeted messages and so on. When IV events are held in a national level, information and action items can be distributed to state chapter leaders who can then follow up.
But yes, it is hard work in the beginning to get every one on board, trust me, I am fighting the same battle, but hard work pays off!

This press release only shows that it is an administrative/executive fix. Either it is USCIS or DOS or the President, is what I do not know. But clearly, it is something not mandated by legislation, else USCIS/DOS would be breaking several laws by continuing to use the old bulletein.
