Are you serious????? Are you sure it is I-485 application? not EAD application or something ?
I am telling you...if your 485 got approved really, you are the luckiest person on this earth....if it is real, Congratulations!!!! enjoy!!! don't worry about why u got it....
No its I-485 I just cut and pasted the two emails I received, first at 10am then the second at 3 pm check online and the system had same messages. If its true I am having a party wow man thanks I did come to US in 1997. I do have a labor which was approved under RIR PD date 2004 but the employer refused to file I-140. Then again filed PERM in 2007 under EB2 and filed I-140/I-485 based on this PERM

Ask your attorney to write a letter in response to RFE and explaining the situation you never took the job with employer X though the H1B transfer or new is approved, this will clear the query of USCIS. One catch, you should have maintained a continuous employment with #2 and demonstrate the same to USCIS. Good luck!
Note H1 to L1, H4 to H1, L1 to H1 is completely different, it is change of status - H1 to H1 is not change of status, so there is no question that you recent h1 is valid and past is invalid. Get an attorney, Good weekend
Thanks wandmaker.

Should we include an explanation of why we need the AP? When you e-file, there is no way we can fill in this information online.
... and prepared the following documents to be send:
-Copy of a e-filed I-131 receipt (.pdf, received right after submission, credit card payment reflected)
-Copy of Notice of Action for e-filed I-131 (received from USCIS, paper)
-Copy of I-485 receipt
-Copy of last Advance Parole
-2 photographs.
I hope this is what is required as supplemental docs.
Best wishes!!!

Here is the status update from HLG website. Note the date. Anybody here at IV, agree with me, if it needs to be countered by a direct web fax to Congress.
2/12/2007 IMMIGRATION ALERT:
ADVOCACY ALERT: RETROGRESSION: WE'RE GETTING CLOSE
HLG has confirmed that the Senate leadership is comfortable with a proposal to solve retrogression for Schedule A occupation -- registered nurses and physical therapists. It was through grassroots advocacy that we were able to explain to the Senate leadership just how important this issue is. Thank you to everyone who made an effort.
We now must turn our efforts toward the House.
If anyone works with or at any hospitals in the following Representatives' districts, please contact Chris Musillo (cmusillo@hammondlawfirm.com; 513-381-2011 x223) ASAP.
Rep. Lofgren (D - CA) : 16th District - San Jose
Rep. Eshoo (D- CA) : 14th District - San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz
Rep. Pelosi (D - CA) : 8th District - San Francisco and north
Essentially anyone who is located in the Bay Area and wants to see retrogression solved should contact their hospital leadership and see if they are willing to make a few phone calls and sign onto a letter. If they are willing to do that, please let Chris know ASAP. Chris can then explain exactly what needs to be done.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
We're getting close.

I think OP posted on Murthy fourm too. This is reply from a user at that forum.

If COS means -'change of status', mine is not change of status.
It is H1 to H1 (I believe that means it is not change of status) .
Thank you

Dear all,
I am a silent admirer of all the great work that you do. You are doing a commendable job for the voice-less powerless immigrant population. I have sent a modest contribution of 50 by check. Won't be able to join you all due to prior commitments.
Thanks

Hi,
Did u find a reply for this? What did u do? I have the same situation..
Please show some lights..

Im working for company A and company B has sponsored my GC as future employee and also did a H1 transfer from A but got a big RFE. Now company C is ready to do H1 transfer. Is it a good idea to do so or would get into problems as GC is in process through B? We did I-140 & I-485 concurrent filing and got our EADs approved but I-140 is still in pending status. I heard that using EAD is not a good idea when I-140 is pending.
My Attorney is sending a response to RFE but Im not sure whether it gets approved or not. What happens if B transfer gets approved and would choose to work with B and not use C at all (if it gets approved)?
In the other way, If C gets approved and choose to work with them as the H1 with A expires pretty soon (got to move out) can I comeback to B with a fresh (another) H1 transfer. Please suggest what is the best to do at this time?

History
Rep Lamar Smith from Texas is the Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee and is a key member. His support will further strengthen the bipartisan support the bills currently has. He championed high skilled immigration bills in the past and we need to get his support on the bills that are before the Judiciary Committee now
Number to call
202-225-4236 8:30am - 6:00pm EST, Monday - Friday
Note the 6 PM EST which is 5 PM CST.
Message
I would like to talk to some one who handles Judiciary Committee issues or Immigration bills. If you get transferred to a person or a VM
Rep Smith has been a champion of high skilled immigration bills and I request Rep Smith to support similar bills such as HR5882, HR6039 and HR5921 that are currently before the House Judiciary committee. These bills have good bipartisan support and will increase American Competitiveness. I request Rep Smith to support these bills and increase the bi partisan support.
DO NOT get into illegal immigration discussion as that undercuts our message.
If asked whether you are from Rep Smith's district tell him/her that you are not from his district if you are not. Tell them that you called your rep and calling Rep Smith's office because Rep Smith is the Ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee and a champion of High skilled immigration.

When it is already proved that no American is available for the skill set required and being substituted with a Foreign worker, then from where the nationality came in to the picture?
Here is the reasoning (I have not thought deeply enough about the reasoning to have a personal opinion on it yet):
The U.S. has a policy of cultural integration called "the melting pot". The idea, is that instead of (as Canada does it) maintaining simultaneous separate cultural identities (referred to as a "mosaic") cultural identities are "blended" together to arrive at a new cultural identity that will still be uniquely "American".
Given this policy, the per country quota makes sense, since to not restrict immigration from certain cultures risks the potential of getting more of a mosaic than a melting pot (since if there is sufficient "critical mass" of one cultural identity, this group would be prone to establish a "district" of their own and maintain their source culture). An example of this is the "little country" syndrome (e.g. little China, little Vietnam, little India, little Italy, etc.).
Does the companies bother about the skill set required or the nationality?
Thanks
The quota is applied post qualification of the candidate, so the skill set is not a factor (i.e. if country 'A' does not achieve quota with qualified applicants, then these visas are distributed to countries that have hit the quota).
Applicants from countries that don't achieve quota are subject to the exact same tests on their qualifications as applicants from countries that do achieve quota.
I think what frustrates most people here is not the per country quota, so much as the low level of the overall quota (since, as others have pointed out, most countries do not use their quota, and that quota *is* redistributed to the countries that do achieve quota, thus allowing them to exceed quota).
So in effect, all the per country quota does, is give applicants from those countries first-crack at available visas *once other countries are at quota*, and has no effect at all until some country has hit their quota.
I think there is plenty of room for discussion about what percentage a country should be able to send, and what the overall number of visas should be, but I really don't think the per country quota is worth getting worked up about.

Why not file on your own??? they charge a ton ... heck you could buy an iphone with service for a year with what they charge ....the quote they gave me was :
EAD application - total: $722
$350 legal fee
$340 USCIS filing fee
$32 admin/misc fee**
AP application - total: $837
$500 legal fee
$305 USCIS filing fee
$32 admin/misc fee**
**If all applications are processed at the same time, the admin/misc fee will be slightly reduced.
Anyone else having problem or I am the only one?

The U.S. Department of Labor today announced that it has begun auditing all permanent labor certification applications filed by attorneys at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP. The department has information indicating that in at least some cases the firm improperly instructed clients who filed permanent labor certification applications to contact their attorney before hiring apparently qualified U.S. workers. The audits will determine which, if any, applications should be denied or placed into department-supervised recruitment because of improper attorney involvement in the consideration of U.S. worker applicants.

She politely took down my message. I politely requested his support and mentioned that I believe his support was crucial to get the bills passed.

That is an excuse.
If someone wants to attend, nothing stops them from attending the rally
What you say are silly excuses
