Just saw this story from a few days ago. Aside from being a hugely irresponsible way to spend a broke state's taxpayer funds, this idea also is probably unconstitutional. Does Arizona plan on having its own border control points? Will the state's wall interfere with Border Patrol activities? The federal government is supposed to control the national borders and not the states. Not that Arizona minds wasting the state's money to continue to losing that point.

The restrictionist Center for Immigration Studies has put out a DREAM Act proposal that could tell us what the Republicans might propose when they re-draft DREAM to their own liking. It's not horrible - some ideas, particularly those in the first of the two parts - would probably be areas where agreement could be reached. We filed two different I485s. One me as Primary, for which I have not received any receipt which reached on July 17th. Another from my husbands employer, me as beneficiary which reached on Aug 13th. We got receipt and FP Notice for one which was applied through my husband's employer. Confusion is that in my receipt notice the Alien Number is different from what I received on my I140 Approval Notice. Is it of any concern? Finally will my husband be able to get EAD from my application?
Appreciate any views or opinions!

But I just submit I-765 (EAD) renew by 6/22/08. Now I found out my I-140 and I-485 are all approved. Can I revoke or withdraw I-765(EAD) from USCIS?
Do anyone have similar case?

I am working for a small company on H1B since October 2006. The company had originally filed for full time employment (LCA and I-129) but at the time of hiring offered part time employment. I worked part time till June 2008 and since then I have been working full time. The company however never filed for an amended LCA and/or I-129 and I worked part-time on a full-time LCA and I-129. My H1B approval was extended last October by another 3 years. I also work part-time for a University on a concurrent H1B.
Will I be deemed out of status for this? What are the implications of this on filing for GC under EB1 or EB2? Is there any way in which this situation may be legally rectified?
Please advise.

Trying to use my EB3 date in the EB2 category
Just spoke to an IO at TSC, She told me that the case is at a place what they call "Pending Review and final decision"
I asked her whats the next step after this?
IO : Hope fully will be assigne to some one
I Asked, isn't this the place where all the cases are "Pending Review and Final decision"?
IO: a big NO...no no..this is not the place where all the cases are, I can't provide anymore info then this, I was just being nice because you called at 3:30 pm.
Any body who has thier case in the pool of "Pending review and final decision".
Honestly, I think its just a general status that she told me about my 485 case.

Hi,
Am on H4 and applied for H1B in May 2006. Because of emergency, we need to travel out of US; got the approval on Sept 7th and returned to US on Sept 10th. I lost hopes of Change of Status petition approval(as one of my friend's COS petetion is rejected eventhough she didnot leave US during H1 process), but surprisingly when I received my papers today, it is approved with old I-94 number. Thank God.
Now, Can I go ahead and apply for SSN. Can they ask me to go for stamping as the I-94 on the approval notice is different from the current I-94 in the passport?

Hi,
My current H1 is valid till Feb 15 2010. My lawyer filed for H1 extension in Aug 2009, almost 6 months before the visa expiration date.
After 3 months my lawyer filed an enquiry with the CIS and CIS responded back saying they had sent an RFE on Dec 16th 2009 to my employer. However, my employer hasn't received any mail from CIS. Then my lawyer requested the CIS to send another copy of the RFE on Dec 30th 2009.
However, till date nothing has been received in the mail. Is there any way I can get to know what RFE has been issued by CIS?
It has been 6 months since filing my extension at CIS CSC and uptil now there is no news. Can CIS get any worse when it comes to H1 extensions..I don't think so.

Hi,
I have been granted an asylum last year in July. I sent my I-485 to adjust my status this year on August 24th with the fee waiver form (sending proof of food stamp eligibility and supporting documents.)
Today is October 2nd(its been almost 40 days) and I have not received a document receipt from USCIS (we are a family of 3 and non of us has received anything in regards to this matter)
Please let me know what actions should I take or should i wait?! Is it possible to not get a receipt and just receive the finger print notice in the next few months?! (I just checked texas service center's processing times, and it says they are at March 28th,2010 now)

As per AC-21, you can just do H1 b transfer and keep ur already applied I-485 running as you have crossed 6 months.
Lets say, after getting EAD and AP and 6 months after filing for I-485, you want to switch jobs to another company but want to do an H1B transfer to a similar position. Do we still have to start the green card process from scratch to remain on H1B?

Thanks. The A#, DOB and photo are correct on the card. Can I use the EAD card and at the same time file for a correction.

You should change to H-4 (assuming you are eligible) if you are not working. You should be able to change back H-1B later and get the remainder of your 6 years, without being subject to the cap, if you find a new employer. It is important not to violate status now, and not working violates your H-1 status even if the lack of work is not your choice.
